3 Tips For Keeping Your Blog Active

We make the same recommendation to nearly all of our new clients. Include a blog on your website!

There are a variety of ways that blogs can help your website, from offering the perfect way to add fresh content to your website to getting in Google’s good books, the addition of a blog to your website is all positive!

However, it is important to note that adding a blog to your website is not enough on its own, you actually have to use it! You don’t need to go crazy, a blog a week should be fine and is enough to Bloggingensure that visitors to your website know that your website is regularly updated.

To help you along the way, we have identified 3 steps to help keep your blog active.

Step 1: Making The Time

This may be the hardest part. We understand that your time is precious and you may want to do other things with your spare time (if you have any!).

Don’t forget though that blogging is a form of marketing that can keep on giving. You don’t need to dedicated 1 day a week to writing a blog, anywhere from 30 mins to an hour should be enough to write a quality blog.

Step 2: Find Something To Blog About

Whilst this may seem a little tricky, many effective blogs are written about fairly basic subjects. For example, if you are a plumber, do you know of any ways your customers could save a bit of money during the expensive winter heating months? If so, why not write a blog about it?

Do you have a new product or service you would like to promote? Have you seen a recent story in the press that you would like to tie in? From an effectiveness perspective, the more people that share your content, the greater the chances of getting mentions and all important back links. Also sharing helps your content get discovered faster; and the quicker it’s found, the sooner it shows up in the index.
