Plans are being drawn up to turn a farm close to Oxted into a new housing development. Neighbours surrounding the farm are being asked for their views on the scheme, named Perrysfield View, which would see a โ€œmix of new homes in a rural setting”.

While the exact number of homes has not been revealed the proposals brought forward by Knightwood Developments would see the main farmyard removed but barn and farmhouse refurbished on the site 1.3 miles south ofย Oxted. While the development is at the design stage theย homes would be a mixture of shared ownership, family and age restricted homes, the latter of which which developers say would be ideal for those looking to downsize.

โ€œThe new homes will be fit for the future, sensitively designed to use little energy and capable of adaptation as the residentsโ€™ needs change,โ€ a statement from the developers said. โ€œThis will be a low-density development which maintains the agricultural and rural character whilst respecting theย green belt.

โ€œThe proposals brought forward by Knightwood Developments include a mix of new homes in a rural setting, a new biodiverse landscape and open green space forย residentsย to enjoy.

โ€œThe development will increase the openness of the site and the new buildings will be largely set back from theย road and will not exceed the height of the existing barns.”

Also included in the plans for the farm, which lies on the corner of Gibbs Brook Lane and Southland Lane, would be a range of open spaces including a wildflower meadow, orchard and pond. Every new home will also have anย electric vehicleย charging point.

A consultation on the plans will come to an end on December 21 with virtual drop-in sessions being held on Wednesday, December 14 and Thursday, December 15. To book your spot visit the developers websiteย here.
