Photos, Photos & More Photos
Did you know??
- 60% of consumers said local search results with good images pushed them towards a decision*
- Businesses with photos receive 35% more clicks through to their websites than businesses that donβt have photos*
We live in a very visual world and the decision-making habits of potential customers are very much beginning to follow suit. Your business will look best on Google if you add category-specific photos. These photos highlight the features of your business that your customers use when making purchasing decisions. Photos you add can also help differentiate your business on Google.
A picture is worth 1000 words
As the saying goes ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ and the ability to visually represent your business in terms of products and services offers the chance to give potential customers valuable insight into what they will be getting for their money before they even make contact with you.
With the recently revamped Google My Business dashboard offering greater prominence to images, it is clearly more important than ever to do all that you can to ensure that your business looks its best at all times.

How important are Google My Business photos to local search performance?
As part of a recent ‘Google My Business Insights’ study, the insights of almost 50,000 businesses in 36 industries across 4 countries were studies to see if any common data streams could be found and the one below stands out from the crowd – ‘Businesses which upload more photos to their GMB listings receive more clicks, calls and direction requests than businesses that don’t.’
Types of photos
There are several types of photos you can add to your business listing:
- Logo:Β Help your customers recognize your business on Google. For businesses that have their basic information (phone number, hours, etc.), the Business Profile will highlight the logo.
- Cover photo:Β Set a cover photo to the top of the profile that best represents your business. In some instances, this action doesnβt guarantee the cover photo populates as the first image for your business.
- Additional photos:Β Add differentΒ photos to highlight features of your business that customers consider when making purchasing decisions.

What Is Responsive Web Design
Recent history has documented a real change in browsing habits.Β For the first time in over a decade, PC sales were recorded at a lower level than they were in the previous year. An interesting fact but how does this relate the business and web design?
Innovative Technology
To find the answer to this question, we must first explain what has caused the drop in PC Sales, and we can answer this with one simple answer – smart devices. For a variety of reasons, smart device sales are soaring and this is sending ripples through the web design community.
With significant increases in the use of tablets and smartphones to view the internet, as opposed to solely using desktops and laptops, the need to design websites which display to their optimum
abilities has never been greater. As such, responsive web design has become a hot topic in the web design community.
Ever-Changing Landscape
So, what exactly is responsive web design? Due to the ever-changing landscape of internet browsers, web users expectations have changed beyond all recognition; whereas previously people just expected the same design regardless of the device they were viewing the website on, people began to expect to be able to browse the web on their phones just as easily as they browse the web on a desktop computer.
In response to this (do you like what we did there!) the web design community started to turn their attention towards creating mobile/tablet optimised versions of their website with the idea that all websites would have their normal βdesktopβ version, and as a bonus, a βmobileβ version would be created as well.
This where the term ‘Responsive’ comes in. Due to the way in which the designs are created the browser will be able to identify the type of device being used to view the website and will display the correct version accordingly.
See it in Action
To see this in action, visit the websiteΒ – https://www.wallbarn.com/ – First, open the link using a desktop browser and you will see the site fully optimised for a desktop device. Then visit the URL through your smartphone and you will see a huge difference. Can you see how the site is adjusted for an optimum display on a mobile device?

What Are Twitter Paid Posts & How Do They Work?
Promoted Tweets are shown when an advertiser pays for their placement on Twitter. Anyone can start a Twitter Ads campaign.
You may see different kinds of ads on Twitter, includingΒ Promoted Tweets,Β Promoted Accounts, andΒ Promoted Trends. Twitter may show these ads to you when you are logged in or logged out of Twitter. They are clearly marked with a βPromotedβ icon.
You can interact with most promoted content in much the same way as organic content. If you follow, like, or Retweet content on Twitter, including promoted content, your followers may see your name associated with that content.![]()

Why you see certain Twitter Ads
Your activity on Twitter, the information you provide to Twitter, and our relationships with ad partners all help make promoted content more relevant for you.
When you use Twitter to follow, Tweet, search, view, or interact with Tweets or Twitter accounts, we may use these actions to customise Twitter Ads for you. For example, if you search for a specific term, we may show you promoted content related to that topic. Twitter also might customise ads using other information about you, such as your profile information; your mobile device location (if location featuresΒ are turned on); your IP address; or the apps installed on your device. This helps us show you local ads and other ads that you might prefer.
Twitter may also personalize ads based on information that Twitter and our affiliates collect and that our ad partners share with us, such as a hashed email address, a mobile device identifier, or browser-related information (a browser cookie ID).
This helps Twitter display ads about things youβve already shown interest in from brands and businesses that you may like. For example, you could receive a Promoted Tweet about a deal or promotion from a business whose website you frequent, or email newsletter you subscribe to. You could also see this business as a Promoted Account in one of your “Who to Follow” suggestions. Learn more about your privacy controls for personalised ads.
