Can Twitter Help Your Business? We Think It Can

Creating a Twitter account offers the perfect conduit to let your clients know about upcoming deals or events, interact with people personally (dealing with both praise and grievance) and reach an international audience.

When you bring your business on Twitter, you connect with our powerful audience where you can make an impact and drive results.ย In fact, brand involvement in culture is especially important among consumers between the ages of 18 and 35. People on Twitter vs. the general population are more passionate, informed, and feel more strongly about brands aligning with culture.*

Your audience is already on Twitter and they canโ€™t wait to connect with you.ย Setting up a Twitter could not be easier, follow the URLย www.twitter.com, enter your details and youโ€™re away! However, if you donโ€™t have the time to create and maintain your Twitter presence, Footprint Digital can do this all for you.

Some top tips:

  • Keep your message concise
  • Limit hashtags to 1-2 per Tweet
  • Include a clear call-to-action where applicable (e.g. “Read the full story”)
  • Avoid writing copy in all-caps
  • Keep a conversational tone
  • Consider using emojis to add emotion

To help you along the way, we have drawn up 5 ways Twitter can be used to help your business.

No 1 – Helping To Spread The Word

Tell the world what youโ€™re doing, whatโ€™s coming up, success stories or ask your followers to get involved. Set quizzes and questions thatโ€™ll get people onto your website and share your details.5 Twitter Tips To Help Your Business

No. 2 – Market Research

Looking for some feedback? Your Twitter audienceย areย your clients; ask their opinion directly and youโ€™ll have the right answer (you will also have made your clients feel valued).

No. 3 – Monitoring Your Market Sector

Following your competitors and other names in your industry is a great way to keep abreast of progress, changes and market trends.

No. 4 –ย Easy Access to Customer Views

Itโ€™s now commonplace for businesses to allow their clients to contact them through Twitter. Praise on Twitter can reap huge benefits in terms of swelling your number of followers. Conversely, if someone complains publicly? You can deal with it instantly โ€“ letting everyone know your side of the issue and how you propose to deal with it. People who complain are generally just looking for someone to listen; do that and youโ€™ll turn a negative into a positive every time.

No. 5 – Growing Your Audience

Twitter has allowed businesses to reach a global client market. The above points will all help you work towards getting your name out there; to potential client sources, you didnโ€™t even know existed. Inciting your existing followers to share your posts and feedback using โ€œhashtagsโ€ (which weโ€™ll go into in the next blog) will ensure their followers become your followers.

How To Add A BCC To An Outlook E-Mail

Have you ever noticed that you can see all the recipients of any e-mail that you receive? What happens if you would rather that was not the case when you send an e-mail? If you have an e-mail to send out and would prefer for everyone receiving it not to know all the recipients, the Bcc (blind carbon copy) function is here to help.

Below we have an easy to follow guide which will show you how to Bcc people into the e-mail you wish to send.

If you add a recipient’s name to the Bcc boxย in an email message, a copy of the message is sent to the recipient that you specify. Any recipients added to the Bcc box will not be shown to any other recipients who receive the message.

Outlook for Windows

After you turn on theย Bccย box, it appears every time you create a message until it’s turned off. The option to turn on the Bcc field can be found in two locations, depending on whether you are composing a new message or replying to or forwarding a message.

  1. Create a new email message or reply to or forward an existing message.
  2. If the message you’re composing opens in a new window, selectย Optionsย >ย Bcc.

To turn on Bcc box, open a new message, choose the Options tab, and in the Show Fields group, choose Bcc.

If the message you’re composing opens in the Reading Pane, selectย Bccย from the ribbon.

  3. In theย Bccย box, add recipients, compose the message, and chooseย Sendย when done.

Turn off Bcc

You can turn off theย Bccย box for future messages at any time.

Note: The background colour distinguishes between theย Bccย button being turned on or turned off. A dark background means the button is turned on, and a light background means it’s turned off.

View Bcc recipients

If you’re the recipient of a message, you can’t see whether the sender added Bcc recipients. Only the sender of a message can see the names ofย Bccย recipients by opening a message in theย Sent Itemsย folder where all sent messages are stored by default.

  1. In theย Sent Itemsย folder, open the message that you sent.
  2. In the Reading Pane, view the header section of the message.

Outlook for Mac

After you turn on theย Bccย box, it appears every time you create a message until it’s turned off.

  1. Create a new email message, then clickย Optionsย >ย Bcc.

To turn on Bcc box, open a new message, choose the Options tab, and click Bcc.

  2. In theย Bccย box, add recipients, compose the message, and chooseย Sendย when done.

Turn off Bcc

You can turn off theย Bccย box for future messages at any time.

  • Create a new email message, then chooseย Optionsย >Bcc.

To turn on Bcc box, open a new message, choose the Options tab, and click Bcc.

Are You Posting Through GMB?

There can be little doubt that Google My Business (GMB) offers one of the most powerful tools in the local SEO arsenal and is a great way to improve online visibility.

If you are a business which places great importance on its local area, ensuring you have a verified GMB profile should be the very first step that you take to maximise your online presence. So long as you comply with Googleโ€™s guidelines, your GMB profile will provide free (for the moment!) exposure on Googleโ€™s search engine so why wouldn’t you do it???

Not only will potential customers receive an easy access to key snippets of information like your name, address and phone number, they will also be able to see any images you post, any reviews that are left and a whole host of other snippets of relevant information, all without even needing to visit your website.

Is Your Business Listed On Google Maps?

Does GMB help with local rankings?

Not only is your GMB Profile easily visible to potential customers when they search on Google, but Google My Business is also a key Google local ranking factor. In fact, according toย local ranking factor industry research, Google My Business โ€œsignalsโ€ isย theย most important ranking factor for local pack rankings. Google My Business signals had a significant increase in ranking importance between 2017 and 2018 โ€” rising from 19% to 25%.

For more on this study, please click here.

Please Note – It’s crucial to ensure that someone regularly logs into your GMB dashboard. Google will often very helpfully (not always!!) try to make subtle updates to your listing in an effort to increase its accuracy. However, these auto-generated updates are not always as accurate as you would like and it’s important that you are aware of these to allow you to opt-out of adding information which is incorrect to your profile.

Is claiming my listing enough?

Claiming your Google My Business profile is, without doubt, the first and most important step. Don’t stop there though! The option to publish posts through the dashboard can play a crucial role in helping to communicate with your potential customers and keep your profile fresh and up to date.
